Hey World! Finally a Monday we don’t all hate!
For a girl who’s spent more than half her life living in New York City, there’s no denying that over the years fashion has earned a special place in my heart. From fashion shows, to fashion trends I’ve followed them all. There are two fashion “holidays” for me a year. One would be Fall Fashion week in New York, and the other one would be the first Monday of May, which is The Met Gala. Although I never step foot on the Upper East Side during Met Gala Monday, I just love simply love seeing all the photos the next day.
The Metropolitan Gala, or The Met Ball is annual fundraising/charity that takes place on the first Monday of May of each year. It benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on the Upper East Side. Each year the Metropolitan Museum as a different theme, and this year’s theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion. When I first thought of Camp, I thought “Oh Interesting how they’ll make camping, fancy and fashionable”, but boy was I wrong; by Camp they meant
Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay “Notes on ‘Camp'” provides the framework for the exhibition, which examines how the elements of irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion.
Followed by The Met fundraising Gala, opens the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” exhibit that will usually be on display for a few months at The Met. Are you following? Each year there’s a new exhibit brought to you by the Met’s Costume Institute, and The whole gala’s theme is around that new exhibit. Honestly, it took me a while when I was younger to truly understand what all this madness was, and now I’m hooked.
Here are my favorite looks separated into two categories:

Hey World! Are you hungry? When I was younger, pizza was just another delicious meal that everyone in elementary school patiently waited on Fridays. Pizza wasn’t an everyday meal, it was just during birthday parties, Costco runs with the family, and school lunch on Fridays.…
So this morning I woke up and just began my morning routine. As usual, I was running late and I was rushing out the door. Just another normal day with work and class. Nothing special until 10:53am came around…

When I was 13, I was obsessed with the Jonas Brothers..
— and when I heard they were breaking up or “no longer becoming a band” anymore I was sad, but during that time I just starting college, and in my freshman year and I didn’t really care. I told myself “I’m over them”.
NOW FAST FORWARD TO 2019!
